A sporty 420 horsepower helps deliver up to 3,500 pounds of towing capacity,1 AWD comes standard, and public fast-charging is a breeze thanks to the integrated NACS port and Tesla Supercharger compatibility. Subaru Getaway Specs & Dimensions
As the largest Subaru electric SUV, the Getaway is also the most powerful. Its two-row EV sibling, the Trailseeker, generates 375 horsepower, but the Getaway gives you even more muscle with a generous 420 horsepower. It also boasts a matching 3,500-pound maximum towing capacity.1 The masterminds behind these Subaru Getaway specs are two electric motors that pair with Symmetrical AWD – a standard setup you won't find in this EV's top Toyota, Kia, or Hyundai competitors.
With more ground clearance than both its Kia and Hyundai counterparts and an advanced X-MODE traction system, the Subaru Getaway is more than ready for off-road excursions like camping. The SUV's 80.6 cubic feet of maximum cargo space means you could convert the back rows to sleeping quarters, then raise the seats to create a six- or seven-passenger capacity when it's time to buckle up and get moving.
The Subaru Getaway is larger, more powerful, and has more seating than its EV siblings, plus it comes with the standard AWD that its rivals don't.
Subaru Getaway Charging & Range
Like the rest of the Subaru EV lineup, the Getaway is equipped with a NACS charging port. This design is great for two reasons: First, it lets you connect to thousands of Tesla Supercharger stations across North America, and second, it boosts your public charging speed at DC fast-chargers. You can expand your public charging options even further by purchasing a NACS-to-CCS adapter.
As for Subaru Getaway range, official numbers haven't yet been announced: The EPA hasn't had a chance to evaluate this brand-new model's electric performance. That said, Subaru testing indicates that some trim levels will reach an estimated range of more than 300 miles,2 putting it on par with the Subaru Uncharted EV and ahead of an AWD Kia EV9.
Last but not least in this discussion is V2H charging. V2H is shorthand for vehicle-to-home, and it means that the Subaru Getaway can send its stored energy back to your house in case of a power outage, essentially turning your EV into a mobile power bank.
We love the Subaru Getaway EV for its NACS charging port and manufacturer-estimated available range of more than 300 miles.2
Subaru Getaway Trim Levels & Technology
The 2028 Getaway is available in three thoughtful trim levels: Premium, Limited, and Touring. If an entry model is your go-to choice, the Premium trim has you covered with leatherette upholstery, heated front seats, second-row captain's chairs, wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, dual wireless device chargers, and a hands-free liftgate you can open with your foot.
The Limited edition can be equipped with a three-person bench in the second row; the entry-level model comes standard with captain's chairs. If you stick with the captain's chairs, however, this trim includes a panoramic glass roof. It also comes with a heated steering wheel and ventilation in its first- and second-row seats. Tech systems like Advanced Park and Traffic Jam Assist with low-speed hands-free driving also come standard. Topping the Subaru Getaway family is the six-seat Touring, a trim that further scales up the Limited features with leather upholstery and a Harman Kardon® premium audio system.
While all Getaway trims have wireless phone charging and streaming, the Limited and Touring add luxe amenities like seat ventilation and automated steering.

Subaru Getaway Colors
As of September 2026, interior Subaru Getaway colors are still a mystery, but we know its exterior palette offerings include classy shades of blue, black, white, grey, and even purple. Some paint hues can be found across the entire lineup, including Astro Black Mica, Night Dive Blue Silica, and Cosmic White Pearl, but the top Subaru Getaway trim levels offer their own unique shades, too.
Wrap a Getaway Limited trim in Pacific Pine Metallic for a deeper connection to nature, Smoked Carbon for unassuming elegance, Supernova Mica for a trendy take on purple, or Astro Black Mica for a blacked-out appearance that sometimes glimmers like aqua in the sunshine. Touring paint choices mimic the Limited, but tend to come in two-tone varieties; our favorite might just be the Night Dive Blue Silica Two Tone.
You can customize your Subaru Getaway in six exterior colors, plus an array of two-tone options when building a Getaway Touring.
