We also help families with crisis boarding and behavioral training services as well as a community pet food pantry. HSN also provides numerous outreach programs at schools and businesses to promote responsible pet ownership, including pet sterilization. We believe spaying and neutering are the best ways to reduce pet overpopulation. Our HSN Veterinary Clinic offers low or no-cost pet sterilization for pet parents who need this. Additionally, every pet who is adopted at HSN is spayed or neutered. Since opening, our organization has adopted over 110,000 animals into loving homes. HSN partners with animal control agencies in our service area and reviews monthly statistics to determine how we can work collaboratively to continue to reduce unnecessary euthanasia of adoptable pets in SWFL.

Collaborating to give underprivileged children bikes - Emily R.
Subaru Of Naples joined forces with Bikes for Tykes, a charity dedicated to providing bikes to underprivileged children & families and Grace Place, an organization committed to breaking the cycle of poverty through education and aiming to make a lasting impact today for a better tomorrow. On December 16th, we organized a heartwarming event where we gifted 50 underprivileged children with bikes, helmets, and bike locks which not only promotes physical activity and healthy habits but also opens up opportunities for exploration and independence. The day was filled with joy as we also provided food, a balloon twister, face painting, and even had a fire truck presence for the kids to enjoy. Involving the families who received the bikes in the building process not only fosters a sense of community and collaboration but also provides them with valuable hands-on learning experience. Additionally, partnering with volunteers from Bikes for Tykes, local Boy Scouts, and Subaru of Naples employees demonstrates the power of teamwork and community support in making positive change happen. And involving the families in building the bikes alongside volunteers fosters a sense of ownership and pride in the gifts they receive. This kind of engagement goes beyond just providing bikes; it creates lasting connections and empowers individuals within the community. Collaborations like this highlight the power of community organizations working together towards a common goal of making a lasting difference in the lives of children and families. It's events like these that create memories and experiences that will be cherished for years to come.
Helping Children Deal with Grieve - Emily R.
Valerie’s House is near and dear to our hearts at Subaru of Naples. Everyone knows someone that has passed away and as adults we get through it but looking back on how we felt as a child or looking at our own children dealing with grief, makes Valerie’s House the unsung heroes of our community. Valerie’s House has been our Share the Love partner for 2021 & 2022 and with the help of our amazing customers and Subaru Corporate, we have been able to donate $62,500 to help their mission of no child will grieve alone. It is estimated that 1 in 10 children in Florida will experience the death of a parent or sibling by age 18. At Valerie's House, children know others their age, and they learn that loss doesn't have to limit their dreams and is the only organization of its kind in Southwest Florida. Subaru of Naples had a chance to talk with Angela Melvin, Founder and CEO of Valerie’s House and gave us insight of why she created Valerie’s House “My mother was Valerie. She died in 1987 in a car accident and when I moved back to our community about 10 years ago, I started popping around and seeing was there anything for grieving families 10 years later and there still really wasn’t. I’m passionate because every child should have a place to go when they are hurting. Every child should know that they have someone in their lives that they can trust. Every child who has lost someone should know it's okay to talk about them. Every child who has lost a parent should know that they have hope in their future and this isn’t the end for them. Subaru of Naples talked with Jenna and Maddy Benner who are a Valerie’s House family. Maddy gave us her personal experience “Well, we started coming because I felt like no one could understand my pain and just understand the way I felt, like anyone my age. After losing my dad and my closest cousin Allie, I really needed it.” “You will find love, you will find support, you will find other families in the exactly the same boat as you.” Adds Jenna “You don’t get over the loss of someone you love, you get through it and ideally not alone which is why we are here, but there is never an end to grieve” said Sarah Andrus, Director, Valerie’s House Collier County. “For years we have always loved supporting charities that are local and also support children and it’s great to come just down the street and see a charity that is helping set children on a positive path. We are proud to support and organization that turns such negatives into positives, it’s just really an inspiration to me.” Said Richard DeVoe, General Sales Manager, Subaru of Naples. Valerie’s House is the Subaru of Naples 2023 Hometown Charity and we encourage our customers to support this incredible organization!

Subaru of Naples was honored to donate 80 blankets to Oncology department at the Naples Community Hospital. Our blanket donation is part of the Subaru Loves to Help initiative. "It is always a nice way to bring something positive and gives the patients warmth and comfort and is a way to support them during their cancer journey when they are in the hospital" said Melissa Kieffer, RN. "This is our seventh year, partnering with Subaru for the Subaru Loves to Care program. The sort of mission behind of the program is to spread hope, love and warmth and what better way to do that then with a really comfortable blanket" explains Trevor Rosine Campaign Development Manager, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. "Because cancer patients we know often get cold, so this provides warmth and comfort to them when they need it the most" adds Richard DeVoe, General Sales Manager, Subaru of Naples. The blankets were such a tremendous success that Subaru of Naples was able donate another 100 blankets to the Oncology Department at Naples Community Hospital.

League of Leaders - Susan J.
Dear friends at Subaru of Naples, As Principal of Lavern Gaynor Elementary School, I am reaching out to share the gratitude of our school community for Subaru of Naples and the Subaru Loves program. With your support, every teacher had an opportunity to purchase materials and items to help their students connect with our theme and start the year as a “League of Leaders”. Student leadership is an integral part of our school culture. Students created theme boards last spring and voted on the theme for the upcoming school year. It was so much fun to see their faces when we made the theme “League of Leaders” come to life with the help of your donation. Additionally, your donation helped us celebrate our new distinction as a Leader in Me Lighthouse School. Our student lighthouse team acts as our student council and led a school wide assembly complete with confetti cannons to celebrate this honor. During this assembly they revealed our new Wildly Important Goal (WIG). Our Sea Turtles have committed to pass 23,450 iReady Reading Lessons by May 24, 2024. To celebrate and motivate our students along this journey we provide “Streak” certificates and prizes when students pass 10 lessons in a row. Your donation has allowed us to help recognize achievements with a new colorful selection of student certificates and student incentives. Lavern Gaynor Elementary is in our fourth year as an elementary school serving students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Our school is in an area of Naples that is underrecognized as a community in need of support. In fact, 80 percent of our students are designated as economically needy, and 83 percent come from homes where English is not the spoken language. Our parents work hard to support their families and can’t always support our school financially. They are, however, very thankful of the many ways we support and celebrate their children at Lavern Gaynor Elementary School. One of Mrs. Gaynor’s favorite quotes was used during her memorial and has been shared among our staff. The Subaru Love Promise Program and Subaru of Naples truly exemplifies this message and has allowed us to continue to do all the good we can for our school community. “Do all the good you can, By all the means you can, In all the ways you can, In all the places you can, At all the times you can, To all the people you can, As long as ever you can.” ? John Wesley Thank you for helping this small school make a big impact!
Did Subaru of Naples go above and beyond, provide exceptional service, or support causes that are important to you? We'd love to hear about it.
