The 2026 Subaru Crosstrek brings a couple of changes to the lineup. Now, the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 180 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque is standard across the entire lineup. That means the base trim now has the same power as the other non-hybrid models. Also, two new hybrid trims – Crosstrek Sport Hybrid and Limited Hybrid – have been introduced for the 2026 model year.

Another notable update is the addition of a standard heated steering wheel to the Limited, Limited Hybrid, and Wilderness trim levels.

The 2026 Subaru Crosstrek is equipped with a 2.5-liter SUBARU BOXER engine that produces 180 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque on all trims, aside from Sport Hybrid and Limited Hybrid. The 2026 Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid powertrain delivers 194 horsepower and 154 pound-feet of torque.

You can achieve a maximum 3500-pound Subaru Crosstrek towing capacity when properly equipped on the Wilderness trim, while all other models can tow up to 1,500 pounds.¹
